There are people who plan a wedding day… and then there are people who show up and absolutely bulldoze whatever the universe throws at them. This sick Las Vegas elopement at Sure Thing Chapel was exactly that! Kate and Kristian didn’t just roll with the punches, they laughed in their face, grabbed some crutches, and turned what could’ve been a disaster into one of the most iconic, chaotic, and downright unforgettable wedding days I’ve ever witnessed!

A Sick Las Vegas Elopement That Refused to Slow Down
Let’s set the scene. Morning of the wedding. Kate decides to hit a SoulCycle class at the Wynn casual, right? Except before she even gets on the bike, she clips in and immediately breaks her foot. Not a twist. Not a “walk it off.” A full-on break. Her foot swells up like a balloon, heel basically hanging on for dear life… and what do they do? Cancel? Cry? Spiral? Absolutely not. Kristian goes and gets her crutches, and they make a decision that honestly deserves a standing ovation: we’ll deal with it tomorrow. Because today? Today we’re getting married.
And that right there is the energy. No hesitation. No second guessing. Just full send. They pulled up to Sure Thing Chapel with crutches in hand, pain level probably at a solid ten, and still managed to look like they owned the entire damn place. Kate wasn’t “limited” she was iconic! The crutches weren’t a setback, they were a prop. And suddenly, this Las Vegas elopement turned into something even bigger than planned, something with grit, humor, and a whole lot of “you cannot make this shit up.”

Crutches, Cake & Doing Whatever the Hell You Want!
After the ceremony? Oh, they didn’t slow down. Not even a little. We took it outside, hit the curb, popped champagne, and cut into a cake like this was exactly how it was always meant to go. Kate posted up on the ground, laughing through it all, crutches tossed aside like an afterthought. Kristian right there with her, fully locked in, fully present, fully “this is our day and nothing’s touching it.” That’s the thing about this kind of energy, it’s contagious. The kind where nothing is polished, nothing is perfect, and somehow it ends up being better than anything you could’ve planned!
And let’s talk about the photos. Because this is where it all comes together. The movement, the attitude, the “we’re doing this our way no matter what” energy it hits different. The crutches, the sidewalk cake, the champagne, the way they looked at each other like none of the chaos even mattered… that’s the good stuff. That’s what people actually remember. This wasn’t just a wedding. This was a full-blown moment. A we showed up anyway and made it iconic kind of moment. A Las Vegas elopement that didn’t just embrace the chaos, it turned it into the whole damn story!
